We're happy to announce our donations to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation total more than $11,000. We met with Will Baker, President of the organization, at the Philip Merrill Environmental Center, their amazing headquarters in Annapolis, MD. In design, construction, and operation, the building reflects their goal to protect and restore the Bay.

About

Reach Above is a non-profit organization based in Washington, DC founded by multi-sport athlete Eric Goetz. After years of informally organizing and supporting endurance events that challenged athletes to push their limits and raise money for local charities, Eric decided to focus his passion and energy on creating an organization with the mission of raising funds and/or awareness to benefit local and national charities and causes through athletic events such as bike rides, races and triathlon camps. Our events are for the seasoned athlete as well as those relatively new to cycling, running or triathlon.

For example, Total 200 offers cyclists the opportunity to challenge themselves with a one day, 200 mile or 200 kilometer bike ride. In addition to being a thrilling ride, Total 200 encourages cyclists to be aware of the environment and communities that they bike in and communities to be more aware of cyclist on the road. The proceeds from this ride benefit Save the Bay. Reach Above believes that this type of relationship fuels a partnership that grows and allows participants and communities to combine their efforts. The organization actively supports several local and national charities, including Save the Bay, Autism Speaks and Carbon Management Council.

New Year, New Route

We are always trying to improve on years past. At this point much of the route will remain the same but we'll be making some changes to certain sections. We also work with the communities we ride in to make sure there are no conflicts.
